JOB TITLE: Accounting I
DEPARTMENT: Accounting/Finance
REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer
FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY: Performs a variety of routine and some nonroutine clerical/accounting functions in accordance with standard procedures in one or more of the following areas: general accounting, accounts payables, accounts receivable or related financial area. Reconciles bank accounts, posts information and balances general or subsidiary ledgers, processes payments and compiles segments of monthly closings, annual reports, etc. Contacts other departments and/or outside agencies to resolve problems.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (90%)
(45%) 1. Balances/reconciles and/or monitors various reports and applications included but not limited to daily checks, currency, transaction report, IRA Customer Exception Report, IRA RMD’s, Cash Advance General Ledger, System Personal Money Orders statements, New IRA’s, CETO utilities, Deposit Interest Rate Specification Changes.
(30%) 2. Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions. Collects appropriate data and prepares federal, state and local reports. Prepares Call Report.
(15%) 3. Inputs ACH originations, ALM Reporting, Repurchase Agreement Transactions. Balances Repurchase Agreement confirmation statements to general ledger and DDA application. Processes ACH transfers.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (10%)
1. Trained as backup Senior Accounting Assistant and Accounting Specialist.
2. Assists Accounting Specialist and Senior Accounting Assistant in reconciling problems as they occur.
3. Audits employee statements.
4. Distributes EFS Merchant Residuals to branches.
5. Other duties as may be assigned.

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
· Associate’s degree (A.A.)
Experience
· 2-3 years related accounting experience and/or training
· Or equivalent combination of education and experience

· Mathematical skill set/numeric ability
· Ability to masterfully manipulate/use 10 key pad
· Analytical skills
· Customer service skills with internal customers and vendors
Performance Measures
· Ability to balance accurately, with minimal errors
· Produce accurate, timely Call Reports
